Entrust yourself to the Blessed Virgin Mary this Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun. The Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) will have two worldwide broadcasts from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. First, at 10 a.m. ET, Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, will speak on the story of Fatima, leading the 15th Annual Worldwide Children's Eucharistic Holy Hour. Tune back in for the second broadcast at 7 p.m. ET, when His Excellency Donald Wuerl, cardinal archbishop of Washington, D.C., will lead a prayer of consecration from our nation's capital to entrust all participants to Our Lady's Immaculate Heart during a candlelit Rosary. The broadcast will reach over 140 nations, uniting Catholics throughout the world in this prayer of entrustment to Mary.

See what Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, has to say about his upcoming appearance on EWTN:

Marian Fr. Michael Gaitley explains in his book 33 Days to Morning Glory what St. Louis de Montfort has to say regarding the attitude we must have in order to entrust ourselves to Mary:

Saint Louis de Montfort says that it's not enough to give ourselves to Mary just once and then be on our way. He believes we need to enter into the spirit of consecration, which requires an interior dependence on Mary. In other words, he explains that we should do everything "with Mary, in Mary, through Mary, and for Mary" so as to do it all the more perfectly with Jesus, in Jesus, through Jesus, and for Jesus.

Anne Marie Cardone - Oct 13, 2017

Father Chris Alar, the celebration on EWTN at 10:00 a.m., was so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this. I will also be praying for your parents at 3:00 p.m.. It was lovely to see you there, being the host and leader of the children's hour. Since we visit Stockbridge, quite often. I am so greatly fully thankful to have learned of the Divine Mercy and St. Maria Faustina, and now, St. Theresa, the little Saint, through my retreat thanks to Father Gaitley. Father Alar, you have done such a beautiful service I also loved how you interacted with the children. Beautiful, as was Our Lady, so beautiful. Thank you.
