Fr. Joseph, MIC, Likes It!
Faustina: Messenger of Divine Mercy, St. Luke Productions' live drama based on the life and mission of St. Faustina Kowalska, came to Leeds, New York, on Saturday, Sept. 13 — and Fr. Joseph, MIC, made the trip! Here's the reaction of Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, the current "Fr. Joseph, MIC," director of the Association of Marian Helpers:
"I would say, number one, that it was very impressive to see how faithful they were to the Diary, because whenever you have any kind of a studio production or media production of books in the Bible and whatnot, they always seem to diverge in their own direction for entertainment reasons," he said. "This one didn't. They stayed very faithful, very true to the Diary, and it just goes to show how powerful the Diary is, because everything in here that we heard came from the Diary, but in a new way. It brought the Diary to life."
Would he recommend Marian Helpers see it, bring it to their parishes?
"Absolutely. Without a doubt," he said.
Also present were Fr. Anthony Gramlich, MIC, rector of the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, and the recently formed Marian Missionaries of Divine Mercy.
Actress Maria Vargo portrays St. Faustina in this one-woman show about the Secretary of Divine Mercy's vocation to tell the world about the Lord's mercy, and shares a testimony demonstrating the power of God's mercy to rescue us, even from the depths of our own brokenness.
