The Greater the Sinner …

We received the following story from a Marian Helper in Madison, Wisconsin. We found it to be both inspiring and timely, and so are sharing it.

As with most celebrities, great interest was generated by the death of Hugh Hefner — a man whose legacy was creating a world of pornography, promiscuity, adultery, and lust.

Many would automatically condemn such a man to hell. It is easy to fall into that trap. He certainly led a life condemned by the Bible.

As Jesus told St. Faustina, however, mercy can save even the greatest sinner.

I perform works of mercy in every soul. The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to My mercy. My mercy is confirmed in every work of My hands. He who trusts in My mercy will not perish, for all his affairs are Mine, and his enemies will be shattered at the base of My footstool (Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, 723).

Like millions of Catholics, I pray not only for my family, but for all others. The inspiration to pray can come from anywhere. God often speaks to us through others, through events in our lives, and even in our daily grind.

At work the other day, I spoke on the phone to a woman named "Hefner."

While I was speaking to her, I immediately began to say the Divine Mercy Chaplet in my mind for Hugh Hefner, a person whom I would not ordinarily think of. Why? To save his soul one day. I could not linger very long on the Chaplet. I did my best for Hugh Hefner, but had to get back to the phone call.

So I was quite amazed the next morning when I saw all over the news that Hugh Hefner had died the afternoon I was praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet for him.

For people who have read about the Divine Mercy in the Diary of St. Faustina, that is no surprise.

The Lord said to me, "My daughter, help Me to save a certain dying sinner. Say the chaplet that I have taught you for him." When I began to say the chaplet, I saw the man dying in the midst of terrible torment and struggle. His Guardian Angel was defending him, but he was, as it were, powerless against the enormity of the soul's misery. A multitude of devils was waiting for the soul. But while I was saying the chaplet, I saw Jesus just as He is depicted in the image. The rays which issued from Jesus' Heart enveloped the sick man, and the powers of darkness fled in panic. The sick man peacefully breathed his last. When I came to myself, I understood how very important the chaplet was for the dying. It appeases the anger of God (Diary, 1565).

God's greatest happiness is a sinner who repents — the person was made in His image. That includes Hugh Hefner. As Jesus revealed to St. Faustina, the Chaplet has great power for saving souls.

Write that when they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the merciful Savior (Diary, 1541).

So, trusting in God's mercy, I will continue to pray for Mr. Hefner, myself and my family, and the whole world.

REPENT FIRST ... if you want God's Mercy - Jan 14, 2018

Did Hitler, Hephner, Stalin, Che Guevara Mao, etc. sincerely repent before leaving this earth?
If not, I doubt that they'd receive or obtain God's Mercy.

When I heard that Hugh Hefner had died, I felt moved to say the Divine Mercy Chaplet for him, and to ask Jesus to go back in time (because for God there is no time), and to use it to save Hefner's soul, as each soul is so loved by God.

Someone I knew had lived a very sinful life and I asked God to please send someone to help save his soul. He told me it was me. Several years later, on Divine Mercy Sunday 2013, during the 3 o'clock Hour of Mercy, as I was praying The Divine Mercy Chaplet, he died. God assured me his soul was saved through the powerful prayers of The Divine Mercy Chaplet. It's been the basis of the mission God has entrusted to me through the Foundation of Jesus The Divine Mercy

as my spouse was dying , I was always praying the chaplet for mercy. The day he passed away, I placed the picture of His mercy over my husband's body while praying the chaplet. I was praying for the ease of my husband's transition form this world to the next. At his 40th day after he passed away, around 3 pm, I dreamed Mama Mary and Jesus looking at me with that look of assurance that everything is alright now. that my husband is now with God in heaven. after a day or so, I read about the chaplet of Mercy and His infinite love. " this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the merciful Savior (Diary, 1541)." That was when I realized the impact of my dream. My Willy is finally with God and his soul is finally at peace.
