Live the call! Marian Helper Irene Matelski: Though our parish closing was very difficult, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. A priest friend suggested we join St. Peter’s in Kenosha, administered by the Marian Fathers. Since I was a little girl, I had known that my mother sent money to the Marians for Masses. Today, I get to know them personally. We desperately need more priests. The seminarians giving up everything to serve God moves me. I particularly pray and thank God for the promulgation of the message of Divine Mercy b y the beautiful devotion and dedication of these chosen priests. Fr. Mark Baron, MIC: I felt called to join the Marians because of my devotion to Our Lady and the Divine Mercy message and devotion. I actually discovered the Marians at a vocational awareness day at Franciscan University in 1996 when I walked in and saw that they had a picture of Mary and the Divine Mercy Image o n display in their booth. I thought: “A community that promotes not just one of these powerhouse devotions, but both of them, is a group that I could be a part of.” Write: Fr.
