Full-Time Cook

We are seeking an experienced cook to provide well-balanced, simple, yet healthy meals to our Marian community while being mindful of certain dietary restrictions. Weekly menu planning and preparation of a variety of culinary option for weekday lunches and dinners, (and a possible midday Sunday meal) is required. The successful candidate will be flexible in his/her food repertoire and contribute to the overall health of the community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


Prior menu planning required


Cooking for 20 men on a regular basis; and on 2–3 occasions per year and for 1 month in the summer cooking for as many as 35–40 men


Keep kitchen and pantry clean, including the stove, refrigerator, freezer, microwave and other equipment, i.e., proper overall kitchen sanitation


Properly store leftovers for later consumption


Extensive knowledge of food preparation


Education – Minimum – High school diploma or equivalent; Preferred – Associates degree in Culinary Arts or Food Service

Experience – 5+ years cooking in a cafeteria, restaurant or similar institution.
