Are you depressed about the state of this fallen world? Do you ever wonder if you could do more to help?

Well, to all Thirteenth of the Month Club members, I have good news. This year, Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, the director of the Association of Marian Helpers, is teaming up with the international World Apostolate of Fatima (WAF) and Children of the Eucharist to invite prayer warriors around the globe to join in on a bold new mission.

It's called "World Rosary 2020." The goal is to collect 5 million Rosaries (prayers, that is, not beads) into a "spiritual bouquet." This bouquet of prayers will be offered at Masses on May 13 and Oct. 13 at the Chapel of Apparitions in Fatima, Portugal, by Fr. Carlos Cabecinaas, rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary.

In January, Fr. Chris took to YouTube to spread the word about this encouraging initiative.

He said, "I'd like to remind everyone of a great promise that we have held on to for a very long time, and that is 'In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph.' So, this is not the time to give up. Our Lady of Fatima promised that if we pray the Rosary every day and make sacrifices, she will intervene in history.

"We invite the entire world, those near and far, to visit [WorldRosary2020.org]: Clergy, parishes, schools, families, journalists, organizations and youth groups throughout the world, and don't forget the children. Everybody is invited to visit to submit your gift of ongoing prayers to Our Lady of Fatima's Immaculate Heart," Fr. Chris said.

Connie Schneider of St. Paul, Minnesota, helped start this initiative. She serves as president of Children of the Eucharist, an educational and evangelical program under the auspices of WAF, and she's been spreading the word about Our Lady of Fatima for 35 years. "Our Lady would've asked for this," Connie said. "She said to continue to pray your Rosary every day in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary because only she can help you."

Connie said that people have been astonished that the goal of the initiative is 5 million Rosaries. She came up with the idea to ask for 5 million simply because it's an enormous number. "It's a bold request," Connie said. She continued, "But whatever you feel you want to offer to Our Lady, that's between you and her. So, you just need to go onto the website. We're going to call it our database. Go on there and you can enter Rosaries, morning offerings, and prayers for children. But the primary prayer requested is the Rosary."

So, go to WorldRosary2020.org, and enter the number of prayers you'd like to commit to. There you can keep track of the total number of prayers offered. Only a few thousand prayers are on the books so far. But as Connie said, "If Our Lady wants 5 million, she'll get them."
