The Marians of the Immaculate Conception invite you to the 3rd Annual Divine Mercy Conference. The all-day gathering, with the theme "Healing and Forgiveness Through God's Mercy," will be held Feb. 9, at Cardinal Spellman High School, Bronx, N.Y.

Cost is $55 (individual); $45 (before Jan. 9); $30(religious and student); and $40 (group rate).

You can register online.

Father Benedict Groeschel, CFR, will deliver the keynote address. Father Groeshel is an acclaimed author and well-known television personality, hosting "Sunday Night Live" on EWTN. He is the founder of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.

Speakers will present talks on the Divine Mercy as an effective therapeutic response to many of the ills that plague people in today's fast-paced, stressed-filled life. In addition to Fr. Groeschel, the lineup of presenters includes Fr. Seraphim Michalenko, MIC, the world's pre-eminent authority on Divine Mercy and the life of St. Faustina Maria Kowalska, the nun to whom Jesus, in the 1930s, entrusted His message of mercy for all of mankind.

Other speakers slated for the conference include:

• Msgr James Lisante, a regular contributor to the Fox channel, host of a weekly radio program, and a newspaper columnist.

• Immaculee Ilibagiza, survivor of the Rwanda genocide whose remarkable story of faith in extreme adversity is told in the book, Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust.

• Bishop William E. Lori, STD, Bishop of Bridgeport, CT, who will also be the celebrant for Mass and will discuss the upcoming World Apostolic Congress on Mercy, set for Rome April 2-6, 2008

• Father Frank Pavone, Executive Director of Priests for Life.

In addition to Mass, the conference will offer confessions. The conference is sponsored by the Marians of the Immaculate Conception and the Center for Spiritual Development of the Archdiocese of New York.

We would like to attend this conference but finances and distance prevents us from doing so. Will be in our prayers, though. Will there be a taping and an airing at a later date so we can view it on EWTN? In Christs Peace..

Divine Mercy is wonderful. But let's not forget the other ecclesiastically approved devotions. How about also finally publically acknowledging the devotions to the Holy Face (Sr. Mary Peter & Mother Pierina) and the Sacred Head (Theresa Higginson) and the specific requests made by Jesus to these holy souls? Time is short and sin abounds. These remedies are also needed too! Thank you.

Are you recommending any NY or close by hotels? Are their any reduced rates?

Dolores R. - Jan 9, 2008

How can I organize a Divine Mercy Conference in my area, near Orlando, FL?

Carolann - Jan 9, 2008

How I wish I could attend...but I live too far away & the expense of a trip to NY is out of the question!
Will you be taping this program to later make available to all of us that could not be there.
