The man behind the famous phrase "the family that prays together stays together" is the subject of a new documentary that released in theaters in October. It's called "Pray: the Story of Patrick Peyton" and was created by Family Theater Productions.

This new documentary tells the story of Venerable Patrick Peyton, an uneducated Irish immigrant who came to the United States in 1928 with dreams of worldly success. When he arrived in Pennsylvania, he took a job as a janitor in a Catholic cathedral, which rekindled in him a desire to become a priest. Before reaching ordination, he came down with tuberculosis and faced certain death. Father Peyton slipped into despair. But thanks to the inspiration of a mentor, Fr. Peyton prayed to the Blessed Mother and experienced a miraculous recovery.

In gratitude for his recovery, Fr. Peyton dedicated his life to telling others about the power of prayer, especially the Rosary. He traveled the globe and even enlisted help from Hollywood's biggest celebrities to encourage others to join their family in prayer.
